WEEK 4: SELF INITIATED BRIEF

As this is the last week on the whole unit, I've never worked so fast in my life. I've had so many little jobs to get finished before hand in, I've not had time to stop and think for a minute. This week I've been creating two huge samples to pin up for hand in. The samples consist of two large digital printed backgrounds, one light and one dark. Then each have a large piece of organza sewn on top, so it gives a lovely layered effect. I have never worked on this larger scale before, so I have found it challenging with the work load this week.

This has by far been the best work I have created yet, the quality has improved, I'm using new techniques, my colour pallet has expanded for the better and I'm working on a scale I never thought I would. I've taken a big risk this week by working on black organza, I didn't have time to experiment first to see if it looked good, but thankfully it does. If I had more time on this project, I would have liked to have drawn some visuals up of what it would look like on a garment, so for the next project I will have to plan my time better.
